Happy new year all.
Not quite yet, but the graphics are getting closer to completion.
And the stripe will be staying, as it's an integral part of the colour scheme. Besides, it would otherwise just be another grey skin!
Cool new look!!
And different.
long live the stripe...nice work
Something to look forward to.
Slice'n'dice about 85%. Should have the images ready by the end of the day, then it's the exciting (read: dull) part of putting the actual skin together. Hopefully then I'll be able to post another screenie.
After that, there's still wallpaper and gadgets to do.
Woo Hoo Your doing real good.
I'm reserving a spot for your blind. Already got a folder primed and ready in my archive. Of course got to try it on first.
Hmph.
The carbon texture on the window frame and on the taskbar is easily done (in fact, it is ready now), but getting it on the start panel and being tileable both vertically and horizontally (for when the Win7 start panel expands) and matching on the top, right and bottom sections of the start panel... I'm not certain that it's possible!
A question. When it comes to WB's I'm totally in the dark. You said you don't know if its possible to get the texture on the start panel because it has to be 'tileable' vertically and horizontally and match top, right and bottom when it expands. What does that mean? and could separate images work? If the start panel is already sized so that the texture is already there when it expands. Just guessing.
Actually, with the help of Mr Neil WindowBlinds the issue is resolved. Now the start menu is using a single texture across the whole start panel, cleverly transparent on the left, big enough to cater for expanded or tall start menus, and set to 'autocrop'.
(Uvah - The problem was that the start panel is made up of five separate bits - top, left, right, bottom and 'more programs' - and trying to get a texture to match successfully across those parts is tricky, because this texture looks bad if it is stretched. Then in vista or Win7 you have to successfully get the textures to still match up when these sections are stretched or tiled to make the 'expanded' version of the start menu, or if the user has a taller start menu because it has a lot of programs pinned on it.)
Anyway, not really finished yet, but a lot closer.
And a new snapshot uploaded.
I really like this one a huge amount, Tim. The colored stripes are wonderful and the texture perfect.
Big thanks to Neil for helping with that.
Thanks for the reply essorant.
