how can i change taskbar words to white?

I did that too. Open the skin with SkinStudio, go to Start Menu and Taskbar > edit horizontal taskbars > buttons > text, and change the font color for each button state.

and the weird show desktop button....it has a weird yellow around it...bug or not?

The skin desc says he updated the show desktop button, maybe you need to update yours.
